I love travelling. The best my memories are from the Canary Islands. The natural beauty of these Islands is memorable. What I love mostly is the scenery, climate, food and wine from local vineyards. Many Islands vines are centuries old – believe it or not, wine has been produced in the Canaries for over 500 years. The Field of Vines Blanket is dedicated to those volcanic Canary Islands with their forests, lava fields, vineyards, friendly towns and winter sunbathing! SKILL LEVEL: Advanced. Stitches used: intricate vine motif, cable and lace panels throughout with a garter stitch border. The pattern comes with written instructions and charts. MATERIALS REQUIRED: • 28 x 50 g balls (1960 m or 2156 yds), using Drops Alaska 5458 (Grey Uni colour shade) yarn. You can use any other substitute yarn as there no need to follow the gauge for this blanket. • 1 Circular needle 8.00 mm x 100 cm (US 11). • 1 Tapestry needle. GAUGE (tension): 11 sts and 16 rows = 10 cm (4”) measured over Garter st, blanket being blocked, using 8.00 mm (US 11) needle. NB Gauge is not crucial for this pattern. MEASUREMENTS AFTER BLOCKING: 140 (length) x 186 (width)cm (55 x 73 ½ ins). NB Your size depends on your gauge. ©Copyright all text and photographs Raimonda Bagdoniene 2021. All rights reserved.

Knitting pattern only The ‘Blooming Lavender’ sock knitting pattern was created with the inspiration of lavender and their upright flower spikes and long green foliage. These socks are knit from the cuff down with a 1×1 ribbed cuff, an eye of patridge heel-flap and gusset (alternative heels can be substituted) and have a section of colourwork on the leg and a small section before the toe decreases. This pattern uses the magic loop circular needle method (but can easily be knit with dpns). This pattern has step by step English instructions with charts for the colourwork sections. There are two different stitch counts for the colourwork section on the leg. One for a small/medium size and one for large (or for any knitters with high heel arches). The needles size is also chosen according to the size required and gauge for the colourwork section. •Small (foot circumference 19-20cm) 2.25mm (US1) needles, 38sts x 40 rounds 10cm •Medium (foot circumference 21-22cm) 2.5mm (US1.5) needles, 34sts x 38 rounds 10cm •Large (foot circumference 23-24cm) 2.75mm (US2) needles, 32sts x 36 rounds 10cm Foot length is easily adjustable. Yarn required: This pattern was created in collaboration with Yarn Love yarns using her Cinderella base, fingering weight sock yarn (80% superwash BFL, 20% nylon). Sample shown is knit in size M for foot length Europe 39, US 8, UK 6 using: Main Colour: Lupines 250m/273yds 60g/2.12oz Contrast Colour 1: Majesty (Purple) 40m/43.75yds 10g/0.35oz Contrast Colour 2: Martini (Green) 35m/38yds 8g/0.28oz
