Heirloom Vintage crochet pdf downloadable christening pattern consists of gown, bonnet, and high top booties. This is my most popular pattern. Just think of the pride and joy you’ll experience upon completing something this beautiful for your angelic baby girl on her very special day. When completed, this dress has won several first prizes in best in show and best in crochet. Customers have sent me their photos with the prize ribbon. The very open lacy pattern is repeated in the skirt but with each round more stitches are added to get a full flowing skirt. The sleeves have a small cap and are gathered with the decrease of stitches. No need for ribbons o adjust fit, unless, of coarse you want to add ribbons. I did add a bow just as a complement. The waist is adjusted by the insertion of a ribbon at the specified area. You can also adorn the bodice and the skirt with crochet flowers that I have included instructions in the pattern. The pattern of the bonnet is taken from one of the designs of the skirt. You can thread the ribbon at the bottom of the bonnet or the side. You can also attach a flower or flowers to the bonnet if you like. I have also included instructions for high top booties like they used to wear in the olden days. There are 3 sizes of the booties to choose from. This pattern will take a bit of time to complete. Just for the gown alone, give yourself at least 60-70 hours to finish depending on how fast you crochet. The gown will fit a baby 3-12 months old. The dress measured 31 inches long and the waist is 24 inches. Although I had customers send me photos of their babies wearing the gown at one month old. The gown is made so that the fit can be adjusted by the ribbons around the waist and sleeves. You will need about 3000 yds of crochet thread no. 10. and 1.5mm crochet hook. The thread can run thicker or thinner than what I used and the measurements might be a tad smaller or larger. Also, depending on how you crochet, looser or tighter will generate a different measurement. Depending on the size of the head, the bonnet should fit up to 12 months. The front of the bonnet can be folded over for smaller heads or left extended for large heads.
