The foldable grocery Bag is not lined to minimize fabric consumption and is sewn quickly. All open edges are edged decoratively with a bias tape. And ist is strong enough to hold heavy groceries. The pattern pieces are printable either on Letter or A4 size paper. Also included is a Plotterfile to plotted in a plotterstudio. This pattern listing includes a tutorial for making the foldable bag as well as the computer drawn pattern. Its an easy project for confident sewers! It has a detailed description of each step with photos to show you how to make it. This grocery bag can be folded into a pocket attached to the bag itself so you can carry it in your handbag and take it out when it’s needed. This is an easy sewing pattern to follow with instructions, diagrams and photographs to make your own shopping bags. There are no pattern pieces, as the pieces are cut out by using measurements. There are two sizes of lined shopping bags and one unlined fold away bag. Handy to keep in your handbag, within its own little case. You can use fabrics such as cottons, cotton mixes, canvas, oilcloth or even hessian. You could even make do and mend using old curtains. For the linings and fold away bag I would suggest cotton or poly cotton fabrics. I used heavyweight iron-on interfacing which helped give body to the bags and made them ‘stand alone’. You can have fun with fabrics by using contrasting linings and handles. Happy Stitching!
