PDF original shuttle tatting pattern of the ‘Eva’ bookmark. This listing is for a digital .pdf file (Portable Document Format) of my ‘Eva’ bookmark original shuttle tatting pattern. It features the basic version and three variations (as shown in the listing photos above): using two colours, switching sides with two colours and using variegated / multicoloured thread. This is NOT the finished item. Difficulty level for the basic bookmark: Beginner Difficulty level for the variations: Intermediate Instructions are for size 20 crochet / tatting thread. This pattern needs 2 tatting shuttles to make the finished piece, a thin crochet hook (if your shuttle does not have this) and a thin needle to sew in the ends. Techniques used in the basic design: rings, chains, joining picots, CTM (Continuous Thread Method), joining a ring to a picot on the other side (this is explained in the instructions), using 2 shuttles. Further techniques used in the three variations: split rings, joining picots to the 2nd half of a split ring (explained in the instructions), downward joins (the opposite of normal joins – explained in the instructions), SLT (shoe lace trick). The file features detailed written instructions in English for all four versions and a diagram complete with numbers of double stitches required (as shown in picture 5 of this listing). This listing is a PDF download pattern I have been exploring Archimedian and Platonic solids in tatting for a while now This Truncated Icosahedron is ready to share now – there comes a time when you have to say ‘its done’ or keep making little changes for ever. It is not a beginer’s project – I am assuming some experience by the user and an ability to keep a clear head/orientation. Because the construction can get confusing – I have written this in tutorial style with each step illustrated with photographs… it is an 8 page download. In size 20 thread this sphere measures 5 inches in diametre The truncated icosahedron takes 12 pentagon and 20 hexagon – that’s 32 motifs in total I took 30-45 mins on each motif and completed the sphere within a week Although it is a challenge – it is achievable – and so worth the effort! 🙂 An ethics and polite note – your purchase entitles you to individual use of the tutorial and you can do what you wish with items you make from its use – the pattern/tutorial itself may not be copied/shared or distributed by the purchaser
