This is a lovely red transferware divided grill plate from the late 1800s, early 1900s in the “Old Willow” pattern. I believe the plates are Romarco ware although they are not labeled as such. The plates are marked “made in England” and have the following registration number: 712987. For some reason, I have been fortunate enough to come across these exact pretty plates in green transferware about about six months ago. I sold one of them but still have three available on my site. This plate measures 11 inches in diameter and although there are no chips or cracks, there is heavy crazing which I believe adds to the beauty of the plate just like the wrinkles on a tribal shaman. It has seen some things and it has life experience, almost 120 years of life experience. However, not everyone enjoys crazing and want their antiques to look unfettered. If that’s you, you will want to find a newer better model. Great addition to any transferware or willow ware collection. Beautiful piece for your farmhouse decor home.
