This pattern shows you how to knit and assemble a pouf made with soft wool roving. The main pattern is for a small 14-inch pouf that is a good size for a decorative couch pillow or floor cushion. But there are 5 sizes included in the pattern: mini (12-inch), small (14-inch), medium (16-inch), large (18-inch) and XLG (20-inch) It also includes instructions on how to stuff your pouf with soft and firm options. You will learn to how to split the roving in half to create a nice yarn for knitting, and there are also other suggested materials to use in the pattern. If you are concerned about wool roving being too soft/fuzzy, you can use the light felting instructions in the pattern to make your wool more sturdy. The pattern comes as a PDF file, which should become available to download as soon as your payment clears. This is not the actual knit pouf! The knitting part is easy — the pattern uses a basic beginner stitch and knits up quickly. But you will have to be familiar with using a circular needle to join a seamless piece. And there is some assembly involved in stuffing the pouf. Cost: Wool roving is usually around $20-$30/pound. Similar jumbo/size 7 yarns are more affordable. I have included some great sources for ordering wool roving in the pattern. You will also need 1-2 yards of fabric in a matching color (I suggest acrylic felt, which is about $5/yard) and something to stuff inside your pouf. Of course you can always use the pattern as a starting point and substitute your own materials.
