This is a great pattern for an advanced beginner knitter , who wants to learn some new techniques in knitting to use afterwards those skills in future. It is knitted on large needles with basic stitches and minimal shaping. The chunky yarn used for this project also helps you get it done quickly. It contains supporting videos with knitting techniques used in this pattern. The Over-Sized Armholes Vest is a chunky slipover with deep armholes and it is perfect for layering. Featuring a simple and oversized look, it will never be out of trend. It could be knitted both from cotton or wool yarn. You will want to wear it in the chilly weather year over year. The vest is worked from bottom upwards in two separate pieces: front and back. Then the parts are sewn together along the sides using mattress stitch. The shoulder seams are sewn with horizontal stockinette seam. Armholes and neckline are framed with 1×1 ribbing. Sizes: S-М (L) XL Bust circumference of finished garment: 100 cm /39” (115cm / 45”) 130 cm / 51” Length of finished garment: Front: 56 cm / 22” (63cm / 25”) 70 cm / 27 1/2” Back: 60 cm / 23 1/2” (66 cm / 26”) 74 cm / 29” Size guide: The vest is designed to have approx. 15 cm (6”) of positive ease, meaning it is designed to be 15 cm (6”) larger in circumference than your bust measurement. The fit is oversized. The sizes S-M (L) XL are designed to fit a bust circumference of 85-94 cm (95 -105cm) 106-116 cm / 33 1/2-37” (37 1/2-41”) 42-46”. Gauge: 12 sts x 15 rows = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 inches) in stockinette stitch after washing and blocking. The swatch is made with 7 mm (US 10.5) knitting needles. If your gauge doesn’t match indicated, try going up or down one size. Needles: 1. Circular needles: 5mm (US 8) 40cm (16 inches) and 60 or 80 cm (24 or 32 inches). You don’t need 40 cm (16 inches) needles if Magic Loop technique is used. 2. Circular needles: 7mm (US 10.5) 60 or 80 cm (24 or 32 inches). 3. Tapestry needle 4. Stitch holder or about 20 cm waste yarn (8 inches) 5. 1 stitch marker Materials: 500 (600) 700 gr / 600 (700) 800 yds of аny chunky yarn, the needed needle size is indicated on the yarn label. Also you can use any worsted weight yarn (the indicated needle size on the label should be 4.5 mm (US 7). You will have to double the thread to gain thickness suitable for 7 mm (US 10.5) knitting needle and obtain the indicated gauge.
