Crochet Bow Ponytail Snood Pattern, Vintage Crochet PDF Pattern

This crochet bow and mesh ponytail snood pattern makes really effortless way to dress up your hair. Mine was done in black and white for New Year’s Eve (and to make photographing clearer) but you could do this in any color you want to suit your outfit. The original pattern said it could be made in an evening, but mine took a bit longer than that; about 2-3 evenings. The fine mesh is gorgeous but does take a little time. Mine was done in cotton thread, but you could use bamboo or one of the synthetics for a little sheen. Getting your hair into the snood is easier than you think too, if you can do a ponytail you can do this. Retro Beaded Chignon Snood or Ponytail Snood Pattern, PDF Pattern

This retro beaded chignon or ponytail snood pattern really is a quick little project, especially the way I’ve rewritten the pattern to use a much simpler beading technique. The original called for one inch ribbon on the bow but I think it looks better with the 1.5 inch ribbon I’ve used in my sample. This is a design that you can dress up or down depending on the materials you use. I went with cotton crochet thread and grosgrain ribbon and everything in shades of gray so I could use it for day time wear. Done in a shiny metallic or silk thread with satin or velvet ribbon it becomes fancy enough for evening wear. Getting your hair into the snood is easier than you think too, if you can do a ponytail you can do this.
