Jelly Garden quilt kit…collection options…pattern designed by April Zimmer
Jelly Garden quilt kit…designed by April Zimmer. This lovely little throw measures just 50 x 63 inches and is wonderful for anyone looking for a simple project that can be done anywhere! English Paper Piecing is the method I used…but there are lots of ways people do it. Pop over to our blog and see how I baste my papers. Jelly Garden uses 1 (yes…just 1) jelly roll or layer cake and 3 yards of background. We added a fringe to ours, but you can trim straight and bind if you prefer. This listing is for a Jelly Garden kit which includes: Jelly Roll *OR* Layer Cake 3 yards bleached muslin Jelly Garden pattern 6 packs of 100–1 inch hexie papers ********* Jelly Roll *OR* Layer Cake Options: Grace (photo 2) ******************* Ambleside Jelly Roll was used in the project. Grace is Brenda Riddle’s 13th collection…this collection could be Ambleside’s younger sister. It has the color variety of Ambleside…sunshine, cobblestone, sprout, duck egg blue, linen white, blush, and raspberry. The variety of prints are reminiscent of Ambleside as well…a recolored Ambleside floral, her classic ginghams, small florals, and tonals. *Vintage bedspread fringe* i’ve gotten my hands on some bedspread fringe…i am in the process of getting it sorted and pictures taken. if you are interested in some to coordinate please let me know in the note to seller and i can send you some pictures of what i have that works with the fabrics…then i can set up a listing and get them shipped together. (if binding is preferred, cut strips from the remainder of the bleached muslin) PLEASE READ Please keep in mind…each Jelly Roll contains 40 strips but not always 40 different prints. The original Jelly Garden uses a Jelly Roll of 40 different prints. Current Brenda Riddle Collections contain more doubles possibly triples and every collection has a different ratio of light/medium/darks. You will still have enough fabric but not the variety of the original. This is okay…i did a 2nd Jelly Garden using Folktale by Lella Boutique (34 different prints) and some of the flowers are an odd mix but that just adds to the loveliness. if you feel this may be an issue, you may want to consider supplementing the kit with stash fabrics or an additional charm pack (each square gives you 4 hexies) or an additional jelly roll. As always…if you have any questions…please reach out. happy stitching…thanks for stopping by –april

Throw Size – Grandmother’s Flower Garden Hexagon Quilt – Teal, Pink, Yellow, Blue, Green
Lovingly hand-pieced using the English paper piecing method. This small-scale hexagon quilt is made from prints in my fabric collection, including shades of soft pink, teal, yellow, blue and green. The center body is made from 100 percent cotton fabrics in multiple mini-prints, and are pieced by hand in a fun, fresh hexi-flower pattern, surrounded by two borders. It is bound in a quilting cotton in a pink and white mini-floral pattern. The backing is pieced from the binding fabric along with a blue and white floral. The piece is machine quilted with parallel lines in the body and wavy lines in the border. This quilt is a lightweight throw size, perfect for summer or whenever you want some fresh summer vibes. It is also super comfy for the sofa or a layering piece for any size bed, porch swing, or anywhere you want a vintage touch. The batting is a lightweight, 100% all natural cotton, grown in the USA. No scrims, glues or binders are used in the processing of this batting and gives the quilt a vintage, crinkly look. Binding is machine stitched and corners reinforced for durability. Quilt is pre-washed and read to be used. Materials: Quilt top and backing – 100 percent cotton fabric Binding – 100% cotton fabric Batting – 100% cotton, processed with no scrims, glues or binders Size: Approximately 49 3/4” x 46 1/2” (throw size) Each hexagon is approximately 1 1/8\
