I found this image sometime back and totally fell in love with this bolero. I couldn’t find a pattern for it, so I just made up my own. This is the first time my writing my own pattern. [esp by just looking at an image. So pls excuse me if it’s too hard to follow] Pattern Notes I used a 4mm aluminium hook for this. Replace the 1st dc on each row with a ch3. The pattern is worked in two circles and joined while doing the last round of second circle. The foundation chain is done in multiples of 4 Instructions: Begin with ch 72 , sl st into 1st ch R1 – ch 1 sc in same ch, sc in each ch across. sl st on top of 1st sc. R2 \u0026 R3 – repeat R1 R4 – ch 1 , sc in 1st sc. [ ch2, sk 1, sc in next sc ] repeat. sl st on top of 1st sc. R5 – sl st into 1st ch 2 space. [ dc, ch1, dc in the ch2 sp. ch1. sc in next ch2 sp, ch1 ] repeat. sl st on top of 1st dc/ch3. R6 – sl st into ch 1 sp. [ dc, ch1, dc into the ch1 sp. ch3 ] repeat. sl st on top of 1st dc/ch3. R7 – sl st into ch 1 sp. [ dc, ch1, dc in the ch1 sp. ch1. sc in next ch3 sp, ch1 ] repeat. sl st on top of 1st dc/ch3. R8, R9, R10 – Repeat R6, R7, R6 R11 – sl st into ch 1 sp. [ 2dc, ch1, 2dc into ch1 sp. ch1, sc in next h3 sp, ch1 ] repeat. sl st on top of 1st dc/ch3. R12 – sl st into ch 1 sp. [ 2dc, ch1, 2dc into ch1 sp. ch3 ] repeat. sl st on top of 1st dc/ch3. R13 – repeat R11 R14 – sl st into ch 1 sp. [ 5dc in ch1 sp. ch3] repeat. sl st on top of 1st dc/ch3. Work second circle till R13. While doing R14, the back is formed by joining any 5 shells [5dc] in the middle. Joining: Make the first 2dc of the shell and drop the working ch from the hook. Insert the hook through the middle dc in any one the shells in the other circle. Now pick up the dropped working ch, and complete the shell. Continue with the last row after joining 5 shells together. Here’s how the completed one looks. This pattern can be made in an size, and guage isn’t really very important [ 🙂 ]. Since I started this with a 72 ch, the pattern repeats around 18 times in a row. Here’s a bigger one that a made. 5.5mm hook. Began with a foundation of 80 chs. And have joined 8 shells to form the back. The pattern repeats 20 times in each row. You can change this to any size you need. Just measure around your arm to find out the size you need for the arm hole, and keep chaining in multiples of 4 till you get your required length. Do leave your comments/suggestions. TY! [ps: pls do not copy/sell this pattern as your own] I tried my best to draw a pattern too 🙂 hope it helps.
