I’ve had a love and passion for cloth diapering since I started with my own daughter 4 years ago. I’ve used those years of trial and error to develop this pattern for you to create your own cloth diapers. As easy as cloth diapering is, it’s even easier to custom make your own stash and fill it with prints and fabrics that you not only love, but that will work well for your baby. **THIS LISTING IS FOR A PDF PATTERN \u0026 TUTORIAL, NOT A FINISHED DIAPER.** This includes TWO detailed tutorials for sewing your own hybrid fitted cloth diapers. Bundle includes the Newborn size \u0026 the One Size Patterns. ONE-SIZE :This diaper features a crossover wing and fold over rise. This is considered a one size (OS) diaper and will fit a range of babies from about 10 pounds – 35 or so pounds. There are two snap-in insert patterns for you to make a 4 layer bamboo fleece snake style insert as well as a 3 layer booster insert for longer wearing periods and heavy wetters. NEWBORN:This PDF includes a 20 page detailed tutorial for sewing your own newborn hybrid fitted cloth diapers for babies up to approximately 12 pounds. This diaper features a snap closure with umbilical cord snap down. There are two options for snap in insert patterns for you to make a 3 layer bamboo fleece snake style insert as well as a more contoured, slightly shorter insert that can either be used instead of or along with the snake style insert. I’ve covered everything from which fabric options are out there (including my favorite options and where I buy my fabrics) as well as photo instructions for adding your snaps (even what to do when you mess them up!). These diapers are not fully waterproof on their own but can be used for up to 3-4 hours without a cover. The only change you’ll need to make is to use a wide, but short zig zag stitch for the insert edging rather than a serger. -You should be able to get 4-6 OS diaper cuts or 5-8 NB diaper cuts per yard of fabric, and get more cuts if the fabric is one continuous piece. -You can try adding a layer a PUL but I choose not to include it for a few reasons such as needing to alter washing routine (no drying in dryer, especially at a higher temp), no ability to see the fabric and check for delamination, and it traps in more moisture which sounds like a great thing but it can actually leads to rashes from the ammonia in urine. So yes, it can be done, but I personally don’t use that method.

Hands down. I have tested multiple different types and have many sewing patterns available on my website. By far, this diaper and matching cover are the best option for any cloth diapering family. Because they are made with recycled t-shirts, they are more economical and earth friendly. Because they are fitted, you use less covers (the expensive and more time consuming to sew part). The recycled t-shirts don’t fray, so it saves incredible time by not finishing all the edges. Having a front-loading washing machine has been challenging to my cloth diapering adventures. The elastic casings are all sewn. Elastic installed, front closed, and then wing snaps added. Here are the finished M, L, S, and XS all together.
