Using Nuno felting techniques, be prepared to be elated as you transform layers of hand-painted silk, wool roving and novelty art yarns into gorgeous flowing fabric. This is a new PDF tutorial / pattern for you to make your own shibori, textured, ruffled nuno felted scarf. Learn different nuno felting techniques. The “Ripples” is for more experienced feltmakers. It would
be better if you have done some wet feltmaking already before trying this tutorial, as it combines a few different techniques. You can make the same scarf or you can ,make a smaller one, using one or all of these techniques. I made this tutorial to show how you can combine different techniques in one scarf and make it into a really unique work of art. In these 15 page PDF, I explain 2 ways of felting, by hand and with an electric sander. I give details of how to use the sander to speed up this or any felt project. You will need approximately 200g of merino wool or other soft good felting wool and a piece of sheer silk (I used paj silk 5mm).
