The easy Drunkard’s Path quilt block pattern can be made by implementing the use of the templates that we present here. Scraps can be used or you can use materials that we have suggested. Our suggested material amounts are an over-exaggeration, so if you make a mistake you always have more fabric to work with. Our pattern makes a 10×10 inch quilting block with a 1/4 inch grace allowance. This way you can make any size quilt you desire within 10 inch increments of your desired result. You should already know how to to use a quilt pattern with templates. SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: Finished quilting block is 10×10 inches with a 1/4 inch grace allowance for piecing. MATERIALS: Fabric in 2 different colors (1/4 yard each preferred, but less will be used). YOU WILL ALSO NEED: Printer Paper Pins Needle and thread/sewing machine Template plastic (optional) This is for the block pattern only. Because of the nature of this item, no returns are given.

Drunkards Path Quilt Pattern, Bird Quilt, Easy Pieced Quilt, Breast Cancer Quilt This large Drunkard’s Path quilt is brand new but it looks like it could be 80 years old. It was made from old-timey reproduction fabrics and quilted with traditional cross-hatch quilting. The Baby Quilt version is the oppos
ite, it is made from modern batiks and was quilted on a modern long arm machine by Debbie Williams. The pattern explains the Drunkard’s Path construction and also includes instructions to make the large quilt as well as the small wall-hanging size quilt and full size applique patterns. The Drunkard’s Path blocks are sewn into birds with an appliqué head. There is an olive branch in the beak of the lead bird which is more applique. There is a full size pattern for the Drunkard’s Path block in the pattern so you can make your own templates, but can be easier with an acrylic template set (found at your local quilt store) and it also works with the pre-cut Accuquilt Go system. This quilt pattern includes the olive branch shown in the photos, but it is also very easy to modify it to have the lead bird hold anything you want in it’s beak. I have used it to make a single bird breast cancer quilt for a friend, also pictured. –Thanks for looking!
