Monarchs are one of my favorite things to see in nature so it was about time I turned one into an embroidery pattern. I hope you’re just as excited as I was to stitch this one up. Here is what is included in the download: ❶ 6-inch monarch traceable template pattern. ❷ Detailed, comprehensive instructions for making your piece, including a step-by-step guide. ❸ How to transfer your pattern to fabric, thread your needle, and mount your hoop. ❹ Extensive DMC brand color guide. ❺ Extensive stitch guide including photos and illustrations. ❻ Essential supply list. ❼ My favorite tips and tricks. (A traceable template, the list of supplies, and instructions to make your pattern from start to finish are included in this PDF. I list my favorite supplies in the pattern itself, but here are the basics: ✄ 6 strand embroidery floss/thread ✄ An embroidery hoop. This pattern calls for a 6-inch hoop but you can zoom in or out for a different size. ✄ Scissors. For fabric and smaller snips (if you prefer) for the thread. ✄ Fabric. I like using 100% cotton. Just make sure you aren’t using material that is too stretchy or has a loose weave like burlap. A reminder that nothing will be shipped to you. He hopes to be a marine biologist. He sends the most gorgeous photos of his life there and it lead me to look into some of the bugs and wildlife in the area. That’s when I found the Kamehameha Butterfly and was absolutely blown away. So of course…I was inspired to make an embroidery pattern out of it!
