Vintage Haviland China Johann Haviland Bread and Butter Plates Blue Garland Pattern 1970’s Set of 4 Bavaria Replacement China Floral Pattern Vintage china bread and butter plates. Vintage Johann Haviland from Bavaria, Germany in the very collectible Blue Garland design with platinum detailing. Bavarian backstamp. Floral pattern of small blue flowers on a white background. Platinum trim. 6 1/4 inches Set of 4 In perfect condition..no cracks, chips or crazing. Johann Haviland China was a branch of French porcelain manufacturer, Haviland et Cie. A son of the firm’s founder, Johann settled in Bavaria to escape heavy French competition in the china industry. It also happened that Bavaria was one of the few locations in which Kaolin, or white porcelain clay, could be found. Johann Haviland China remained a family enterprise until 1924. It was then sold to various companies, finally ceasing production in the 1980s. The Blue Garland pattern was one of the company’s most famous. Salad Plates, Johann Haviland, Moss Rose, Bavarian Backstamp, Floral Pattern, Set of Four, Fine China A beautiful set of four salad plates made by Johann Haviland. These were made in Bavaria Germany.
The pattern is called Moss Rose and they are white with a red rose floral design. They have gold trim around the edge of the plates. Would make a wonderful addition to a set you have or are currently collecting. They would look marvelous on a buffet, sideboard, table, or in a china cabinet Size: 7¾ inches in diameter These plates are in ‘like new’ condition. There are no chips, cracks, crazing or utensil marks. The gold trim shows no signs of wear. A perfect gift idea for a wedding, holiday, or special occasion.
