Abel Sherman was a distant relative of mine. His tombstone is housed in the Campus Martius Museum in Marietta, Ohio. The actual tombstone uses the word ‘savage’. I find that word offensive and chose to replace it with ‘Indian’. I added a few design elements, but the death mask and verbiage are as they appear on the original tombstone. It is freebie friday again…..summertime flies so fast. This is a saying from one of the greatest presidents of the USA!! Abe Lincoln had a knack for sayings….they are so simple yet so true!
