This is a DIGITAL sewing pattern for a collarless men´s waistcoat worn between 1860 and 1900. The collarless and single breasted waistcoat, shown in this pattern, was – and still is – the most popular style, easy to sew and comfortable to wear. In contrast to modern waistcoats, extant waistcoats had a narrow collar stand, grown-on or made from an extra piece. This sewing pattern shows the grown-on collar. All pockets, two hip and two chest pockets, are made as welt pockets, explained the 19th century method (feel free to use a modern one). Suitable trousers have to reach the natural waistline. This instruction explains the classic tailoring method with interfacing supporting the front and edge binding. For the interfacing best serves a midweight linen. The interfacing can be replaced by fusible and a modern working can be chosen, but this will not be mentioned in the further. A twill or satin cotton fabric (Silesia) is used for the back and lining, the back will be worked as a double fabric layer and can be tied in if necessary with buckle and straps. Also suitable for steampunk or cosplay costumes. Please scroll down for yardage and pattern information. →→WHAT YOU RECEIVE←← This is a DIGITAL pattern (PDF), you can download both size ranges and languages after payment has been confirmed. The pattern comes with detailed and illustrated sewing instructions in English and German. It is a multi-size sewing pattern, you can choose between Sizes US 8-18 (EU 34-44) and Sizes US 20-30 (EU 46-56). A seam allowance of 5/8\

I used about 10 on this hat. Some were black, some were violet. Since each feather is unique in shape and color, […]
