Falling Water Shawl

Knit in fingering weight yarn, the Falling Water Shawl features an elegant, easy lace stitch and lots of soothing garter stitch. The shawl is knit flat, but a circular needle is used to accommodate the large number of stitches. Stitch patterns are provided in charts and also are written out, line by line. The shawl begins with a cast-on of just three stitches and gradually grows longer, with a column of lace flowing up the right side and garter stitch on the left. Yarn overs worked on the left side create the shawl’s triangular shape. It ends with a simple knit-purl section that can be worked over any number of stitches — which means you can make the shawl as long (or short) as you’d like.Sizes: 1Finished (Blocked) Measurements: 68 inches/173 cm along longest edge (wingspan)Materials:–750 yds/685 m fingering weight yarn –US #4/3.50mm 24- or 32-inch circular needle –Stitch marker, tapestry needleGauge: 17 sts/28 rows = 4”/10 cm in Lace Pattern, after blocking Language English Brand Independent Designer Designer Bonnie Sennott Craft Knitting Format Downloadable PDF Skill Level Intermediate Featured Product Cascade 220 Fingering, The Fibre Co.
