This Nativity knitting pattern is a fun project that can serve as Christmas decoration and is perfect for family gatherings and social events.
A Child is Born Nativity Set
Christmas isn’t Christmas without a Nativity set! Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, the character are knitted in acrylic yarns on single pointed needles (not in the round). A few pieces are i-cord which is a tube knitted on two DPNs, and a few single crochet chains are used to decorate. You only require small amounts of yarn to make each character, so this is a great way to use up remnants from your yarn stash. All the character dolls are knitted similarly with simple colour changes and added details, and instructions are included for Mary, Joseph, baby Jesus and manger, three Kings and camel, an angel, shepherd and sheep, and a donkey. For confident beginners and above, techniques used include casting on and off, knits, purls, increases and decreases, i-cord, and seaming to finish.
