Fishing any time is never a sure bet, but if you have the right flies to match a hatch, your odds go up exponentially! That’s the thinking behind this new fly set I call the “Dryfecta.” It covers all three stages of all the major subspecies of mayflies with three simple patterns. The first is the Shaggy Emerger (TMC 200R hook) which is a perfect imitation of a mayfly just out of its shuck and drying its wings. The CDC shuck, hair wing, and dun -cut hackle provide the perfect profile for hungry trout. The second pattern is The Dun (TMC 5263 eye-down hook). It’s tied with a V-hackled tail, tall deer hair-wing, and dun cut hackle, this pattern is a fish magnet and has the advantage of high visibility, at least until the trout take it subsurface. The third pattern is the Parachute Spinner (TMC 200R hook), a dead ringer for the moment dying mayflies fall back on the surface to be quietly sipped by trout. All three patterns come as a set and can be ordered for specific subspecies as follows: * Baetis (BWO Blue Winged Olive) #18-20 * Pale Morning Duns (PMDs) #14-16 * Calibeatis #14-16 * Green Drakes #10-12 * March Browns #10-12 * Hexagenia #8-10 Check out all of the trout flies on Fly Fishing Extras: https://www.etsy.com/shop/FlyFishingExtras?ref=seller-platform-mcnav\u0026section_id=24967195 Follow us on our multiple social media sites: Fly Fishing Extras: https://www.etsy.com/shop/FlyFishingExtras flyfishingextras.etsy.com https://www.facebook.com/flyfishingextras/ Instagram: flyfishingextras www.pinterest.com/flyfishingextra (no “s” on the end) Instagram: brooklawncreations https://www.pinterest.com/drbkh/ https://www.etsy.com/shop/BrooklawnCreations

Fly Fishing Flies

Trout Fly patterns: Hopper flies, Stimulator flies, Attractor flies: You know its late summer and time to fish the big dry flies. And nothing says big dry fly like a hair-wing pattern stimulator or hopper. Really, there’s not much difference between the two, and they both get big hits from big fish looking to fatten up for the coming fall and winter. That’s why I created the Heart Stopper. It combines the fundamental characteristics of both patterns together into one to maximize their natural ability to attract hungry trout eagerly looking up. The Heart Stopper is tied on a #6-10 TMC 200R hook. The fly is tied so the hook is inverted causing the point to ride up and is camouflaged by the wing. This design allows the fly to ride slightly higher in the water and reduces snags in the brushy edges where these fish are feeding. In addition, the design includes a rough-dun cut hackle that assures your fly will land wings up on the water and won’t roll on its side regardless of the current. This is a great pattern for late summer (August-September) and will fish well on any western river or stream, as well as select lakes, during the mid to late afternoons of the Dog Days of summer! Hook sizes: 6,8,10 Color Variations: Olive, orange, yellow or mixed set Check out all of the trout flies on Fly Fishing Extras: https://www.etsy.com/shop/FlyFishingExtras?ref=seller-platform-mcnav\u0026section_id=24967195 Follow us on our multiple social media sites: Fly Fishing Extras: https://www.etsy.com/shop/FlyFishingExtras flyfishingextras.etsy.com https://www.facebook.com/flyfishingextras/ Instagram: flyfishingextras www.pinterest.com/flyfishingextra (no “s” on the end) Instagram: brooklawncreations https://www.pinterest.com/drbkh/ https://www.etsy.com/shop/BrooklawnCreations
