The Meditations Shawl is a flexible pattern that can be knit in any yarn weight from Fingering to Bulky, in a range of sizes from Neckerchief (pictured, 20” length from center-back to tip of triangle) to mid-size (30” length) and full-size (40” length). Essentially, this shawl can be made from almost anything in your stash, size dependent on your yardage allowances! It is knit top-down, from the center back outwards to the tip of the triangle. It is knit with a garter base and a meditative texture created with slipped stitches. Slow down your day and feel the meditative nature of this stitch pattern. Sizes – Neckerchief (20” length from center-back to tip of triangle) – Mid-Size (30” length) – Full-Size (40” length) Note: Yardage estimates are for three specific sizes, however if your available yardage is between any of these options, I recommend working with what you have on hand even if your finished size may be in between official size categories! The cables in the garter stitch sections flow out of the lace pattern and are created with traveling slipped stitches worked over a striped backdrop. The shawl is worked from side to side, increases along one edge and decreases along the other create the asymmetric triangular shape. Only one color is worked at a time, the cable pattern is created by slipping the contrasting color stitches over the main color rows. ********* Measurements – about 82 inches wingspan and 18 inches at deepest point.
