Kitty Nine-Patch Patchwork Quilt Block Pattern
Kitty Nine-Patch is a patchwork quilt block design that measures 11¼ inches square when finished. Structurally, it is a nine-patch block with four seams eliminated. As a result, the block is constructed by sewing four rectangles around a center square. Two of the rectangles are each simply a single piece of fabric. The other two rectangles are made of several pieces joined to form either the cat’s head and chest or its tail. The center square is made from two half-square triangles. This 4-page PDF pattern includes many colored diagrams, detailed instructions, color and fabric selection tips and a chart of pieces to cut for each Kitty Nine-Patch block—everything you need to successfully create a beautiful project with your own special touch. I’ve also included a chart of pieces to cut for a smaller version of the block that measures 9 inches square when finished. That scale is perfect for a cute mug rug and could also be used when making a baby quilt. This Yardage Calculator will not only guide you in determining your yardage requirements, but it will also guide you in cutting pieces for your quilt from strips. Four Squared Quilt Pattern
Four patches are my latest obsession, and I wanted some quilts that featured these cute little units. This quilt is a simple one to piece, or you can complicate it with some fussy cut squares (like I did, of course!). It makes a generous twin sized quilt, which translates to lap quilt at my house!
