Rainy days call for blanket forts and card games and a playful pullover with a cozy shawl collar. Inspired by the lovable toy, Sock Monkey uses two strands of Loft held together for a marled effect and a plump fabric. If you don’t wish to nod to the classic nursery companion, substitute colors and you’ve got a simply timeless sportswear garment. The body and sleeves are worked in the round to the armholes; the yoke is completed flat to the shoulders and seamed to the set-in sleeves. The ribbing is worked with a smaller needle and a single strand of yarn. Generous cuffs are easily turned up or down to allow for an extra year’s wear. Designer: Jared FloodCollection: Kids 1

A plush brioche cowl finishes the distinctive eight-point cabled yoke of this snuggly pullover. Gentle A-line shaping and 5–6” of ease make Riptide comfortable and cozy. The knitting is seamless, with the body and sleeves worked in the round from the single-ribbed hem and cuffs upward and then united for the circular yoke. Cleverly placed brioche helps to lower the front neck without the use of short rows and smoothly transitions to a cowl knit from the live stitches. Knit in chunky-weight Quarry, this sweater will fly off the needles. Riptide makes a good canvas for our darker colors, as the bold and simple pattern won’t be lost.
